Michael Cotsell
Dr. Michael Cotsell is an Associate Professor in the English Department at the University of Delaware. His academic career is distinguished by his extensive contributions to the field of English literature, particularly Victorian and American modernist literature. Cotsell served as the Associate Editor of the Dickens Companions series, contributing The Companion to Our Mutual Friend, Edinburgh University Press (1986). He also served as the General Editor of the series English Literature and the Wider World, editing the volume Creditable Warriors: English Literature and the Wider World, 1830-76 (1990). His editorial work includes the World's Classics edition of Our Mutual Friend and volumes of critical essays on Great Expectations and A Tale of Two Cities.
In addition to his editorial achievements, Dr. Cotsell is the author of a biography on the British novelist Barbara Pym, titled Barbara Pym (1989). His most recent book, The Theater of Trauma: American Modernist Drama and the Psychological Struggle for the American Mind, 1900-1930 (2005), examines the intersection of psychiatry and American modernism.
