Paul McDonald
Dr. Paul McDonald was a Senior Lecturer in American Literature and Course Leader for Creative Writing at the University of Wolverhampton, with his research largely focusing on comedy. He is the author of twelve books, including three poetry collections and three comic novels. Dr. McDonald's critical works encompass a broad range of topics, including Philip Roth, the fiction of the Industrial Midlands, Laughing at the Darkness: Postmodernism and American Humour (2011) and The Philosophy of Humour (2013). His other notable publications include Fiction from the Furnace (2002), Students Guide to Philip Roth (2003), Reading Catch-22 (2012), Reading Toni Morrison's Beloved (2013), Storytelling (2014), Philip Roth Through the Lens of Kepesh (2016), The Enigmas of Confinement (2018), Lydia Davis: A Study (2019), and Allen Ginsberg: Cosmopolitan Comic (2020).
